CFNR (Compagnie Française de navigation rhénane)

Activities

Created in 1924, Compagnie Française de Navigation Rhénane (CFNR) and its subsidiaries employ 300 workers, over six countries.  Owners of its fleet of tugs, towboats and barges, CFNR transports and handles within its terminals bulk cargoes, acting either as charterer or in partnership with small independent barge owners.
CFNR has become an undisputed specialist in the industrial scale just in time carriage of bulk cargoes over short, medium and long distances. It caters perfectly for the needs of the major steel, coal, chemical, oil, building and energy industries. CFNR Also performs various push-towing operations for third parties.

CFNR owns a dynamic and skilled charterers network, operating on all European inland waterways, constantly on the navigation systems both upstream and downstream. This network offers an effective solution to the increasingly complicated demands of the industrial and distribution sectors. CFNR is also  specialized in multimodal container transport system, offering a “just in time” and “door to door” service. Containers provide a means of carrying a large spectrum of goods : “dry” containers for solid, tanker containers for liquids, controlled temperature refrigerated containers for perishable goods. The CFNR group’s port handling and storage capacity helps guarantee the intermodal link within the logistical transport chain.

The CFNR is a multimodal specialist in exceptional transport operations, heavy loads and the transport commission. Its structured global logistics system covers all land-based and maritime transport systems, as well as additional services, such as storage, handling, logistics, insurance, customs clearance… CFNR offers the most reliable and cost-effective “turnkey” solution by co-coordinating all the links in the chain.
