ATIC Services is a European leader covering the entire logistics chain associated with the coal activity, bulk logistics as well as iron and steel products. Thanks to its expertise in the coal industry, the company has acquired a certain know-how which is at the service of branches of industry at the cutting edge of innovation. With its subsidiaries in 11 countries, and its strong financial resources, the Group represents significant development potential, in order to provide an ever-better response to the needs of its customers. Since December 2011, ATIC Services has been part of the ArcelorMittal group.
At the origin of the creation of the group, the importation of coal, and its associated logistics, has always represented the main source of revenue. Key features of the coal market are - a strong increase in global demand, reserves for nearly 150 years, and the continuous decline of European production. At the same time, worldwide demand for steel has experienced unprecedented growth. Thus, the development of the coal chain is happening in a rather favourable economic environment.
Nevertheless, the group has undertaken voluntary diversification: covered storage, allowing protection of biomass and agro-alimentary products in seaports, handling of containers, waste, biomass, industrial materials and other dry bulk in river ports; these activities are now an integral part of the expertise provided by ATIC Services.
The Group's two major activities - port handling and river logistics - require detailed knowledge of the technological developments inherent to these sectors of activity. So, the floating cranes of its subsidiary OVET are regularly maintained and are replaced by the most recent models, to make it possible to accelerate the unloading of large ships.
In order to ensure the regularity of the provisioning of its customers, in 2008, the subsidiary company CFNR, (Compagnie Française de Navigation Rhénane) the 'French Rhine-Shipping Company', embarked on a construction project for three very efficient motorized-barge convoys, from both the economic and ecological point of view.
Customer satisfaction and loyalty are key objectives for ATIC Services; therefore staff security and risk management are an essential part of our aims. To meet these requirements, the port handling company Sosersid is equipped with permanent electromagnets, which retain their magnetic properties in the event of power failure. This allows excellent quality in the level of security and services rendered.
All the companies of the Group are certified or, for the most recent, are engaged in a quality programme, with a view to obtaining their internationally recognized certification.
